SBI Life Insurance Share Price Movement
The share price of SBI Life Insurance share price opened on the BSE at 1715.30, up 6.6% from the close of 1608.85 the day before. With gains of more than 9% during morning trading, the stock maintained its upward trajectory and reached an intraday high of 1763. SBI life insurance maintained its optimistic outlook even though all of the key indices—the Sensex, Nifty, Bank Nifty, and Mid & Small—were trading in red.
Q4 FY25 Performance (January–March 2025)
- Net Profit: The company’s net profit increased by a slight 0.3% year over year (YoY) to Rs 813.5 crore from Rs 810.8 crore in the same quarter last year.
- Net Premium Income: Net premium income decreased by 5% year over year to Rs 23,861 crore from Rs 25,116 crore in Q4 of FY24.
- Premium Breakdown:
- First year premium increased to Rs 4,858.7 crore, a 7.3% YoY increase.
- Renewal premium Increased 12.9% year over year to Rs 14,680.3 crore.
- Single Premium saw a notable drop of 42.1% year over year, amounting to Rs 4,462.5 crore.
- Investment Income: In contrast to the Rs 10,811.7 crore profit made during the same period last year, the company reported an investment loss of Rs 1,040.8 crore in Q4 FY25.
FY25 Annual Performance Highlights
- Net Profit: At Rs 2,413 crore for the entire fiscal year, net profit increased 27% year over year.
- Total Premium Income: A 11% increase in the new business regular premium and a 14% increase in the renewal premium drove a 4.3% increase in total premium income to Rs 84,060 crore.
- Assets Under Management (AUM): increased 15% year over year to Rs 4.48 lakh crore.
- Persistency Ratios:
- 13th-Month Persistency: Up from 85.76% the year before to 86.64%.
- 61st-Month Persistency: grew from 57.81% YoY to 61.51%.
- Market Share: With earnings of Rs 19,354 crore and a 22.8% market share in FY25, SBI Life continued to dominate the private market for individual-rated premiums.
